Aleksandar Vučić has been frightening citizens for weeks about an alliance being formed by Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia. By spreading panic, he seeks to conceal the fact that he personally left Serbia without allies and has isolated us in matters of defense, as in everything else.
Neutrality of a small state in an unstable geopolitical environment is not a strategy but dangerous gambling, yet Vučić knows no other way. His entire rule rests on divisions, manipulation, and the spreading of fear. Through imaginary attacks on Serbia, he is in fact defending only Aleksandar Vučić.
We in GP Solidarnost know, and citizens know as well, that Serbia can build its long term security only in accordance with its position on the world map and only together with the states with which it shares space, economy, and destiny.
Instead of Vučić’s corrupt weapons shopping spree while our army is deteriorating, Serbia must join the European architecture of collective security, whether within the current NATO framework or within the increasingly strong European defense framework. Cooperation, shared capacities, and alignment with European security standards are matters of preserving Serbia as a state.
This does not mean renouncing sovereignty, as recycled radicals who managed to lose every war would like to claim, but rather a sovereign assumption of responsibility for security challenges through a sustainable, dynamic, flexible, and highly professional defense system compatible with European standards.
Serbia cannot build its security policy by protecting Vučić from Russia and all those to whom he is indebted, and for whom our homeland serves as a springboard for destabilizing the European geostrategic space to which we belong.
