Today, at the premises of the European Movement in Serbia, joint action by pro-European parties and movements was agreed upon within the framework of the Platform for a European Serbia. The participants include Serbia Centre (SRCE), the Free Citizens Movement, the Party of Freedom and Justice, and the Solidarity Movement.

Building on the previously established successful cooperation in coordinating activities with the European Union, the participants confirmed that there is a clear pro-European political alternative to the current government, with the goal of bringing together all pro-European and democratic forces in Serbia. The existence of a clear pro-European political option is the only way to offer the citizens of Serbia a European future.

It was agreed to invite other actors to cooperate, based on clearly defined criteria and principles, political consistency, and a willingness to engage in joint action both domestically and in relations with the institutions of the European Union and its member states.

The participants agreed on the principles that will form the basis for further cooperation among pro-European parties, organizations, and movements.

It was agreed that the Platform remains open to political and social actors who clearly, consistently, and unequivocally share the programmatic and political commitment to Serbia’s full membership in the European Union, respect European values, the rule of law, the fight against corruption, democratic institutions, free media, and fundamental civil rights. Such actors reject anti-EU rhetoric, accept EU policies and standards, including membership criteria, and are prepared to engage in responsible, fact-based communication with the citizens of Serbia, the institutions of the European Union, and European partners.

It was particularly concluded that Serbia’s European path must entail genuine reforms, the restoration of institutions, free and fair elections, and a clear alignment of Serbia with European standards and policies. Serbia must not remain hostage to the current government, which uses the European path as a slogan while undermining European values on a daily basis. Therefore, it is the responsibility of pro-European actors to offer citizens a serious, responsible, and democratic alternative.
