Young European Federalists Visit Serbia

Građanski pokret Solidarnost, Srbija centar – SRCE and the Vojvodina Board of the Movement of Free Citizens host young Europeans in Belgrade and Novi Sad

Građanski pokret Solidarnost, together with Srbija centar – SRCE and the Movement of Free Citizens, hosted participants of the international Erasmus+ project “Youth in Unpeaceful Europe,” taking place from 23 to 28 August 2026 in Belgrade and Novi Sad.

Young people from Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Spain and Serbia took part in discussions on civic activism, peacebuilding and youth participation in democracy. Topics included:

• The university as a centre of political, economic and social developments

• Serbia’s long and winding path towards the European Union

• EXIT and grassroots activism, presented by Rajko Božić

• The 2020–2021 freelancers’ protests in Serbia

• The Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse and two years of student and civic protests following the deaths of 16 people

The meetings and workshops were attended by Jasna Matić, International Secretary of GP Solidarnost and former Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society; Prof. Dr Slobodan Cvejić, Full Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Vice-President and Member of Parliament of SRCE; Tamara Petrović, Secretary General of GP Solidarnost and founder of the Workers on the Internet association; as well as Duško Radaković, President of the Vojvodina Board of the Movement of Free Citizens, and Stefan Bajić, Secretary of the Executive Board of the Vojvodina Board.

GP Solidarnost is grateful for the opportunity to host young people from the European Union and to hear their perspectives. We particularly value the support that young people from the EU are giving to political parties and movements that remain firmly committed to Serbia’s accession to the European Union.
