We extend our greetings on May 9 — Victory Day over Fascism and Europe Day — to all citizens who believe in peace, freedom, solidarity, and building a better future.

On May 9, we remember that peace was not given freely, but is a value people died for and one that must be defended through unity, democracy, and constant resistance to hatred and injustice.

Serbia marks this day under the occupation of a regime that represents everything opposite to the values upon which May 9 is founded — peace has been replaced by violence, freedom by the glorification of dictators and criminals, solidarity by party obedience, and European cooperation by political manipulation.

Instead of a state that respects its citizens, institutions, and the rule of law, we live in a system where justice is denied, elections are stripped of meaning, workers are blackmailed, media are silenced, criminals are set free, the innocent are prosecuted and judged, and the public interest is subordinated to continued theft and the sell-off of national resources.

That is why May 9, for the citizens of Serbia, is not only a day of remembrance, but also a reminder of the obligation to stand together against every form of authoritarianism, nationalism, corruption, and politics of fear. It is an obligation to return Serbia to where it belongs: among the European nations that build their future on freedom, peace, democracy, the rule of law, and solidarity.

Victory Day reminds us what happens when evil is not confronted in time.

Europe Day reminds us what kind of Serbia we want.
