Condemnation of Violence in Iran, Solidarity with the Iranian People

The Civic Movement Solidarity expresses its strong support for the citizens of Iran in their struggle for freedom, dignity, and fundamental human rights. The right to live without fear, repression, and violence is a universal right of every human being. We strongly condemn the brutal actions of the Iranian regime against its own citizens, including the use of lethal force against protesters, systematic intimidation, and violations of fundamental international laws and charters. Responsibility for violence against civilians lies solely with the side that holds the instruments of power. Solidarity with all those exposed to the terror of the powerful is a matter of basic humanity, not geopolitics or political calculations.
